8:17 p.m. CT -- In the fifth overtime restart, Joey Logano was able to hold off hard-charging Zane Smith, Tyler Reddick and Ryan Preece to take the victory in a wild Ally 400 finish. It took five overtimes and 331 laps to complete the NASCAR Cup Series race. "We had just enough fuel to spit and sputter across the finish line," Logano said. "It's a relief to get this win because we weren't in the Playoffs yet."

8:11 p.m. CT - In the fourth overtime restart, Joey Logano and Chase Briscoe pulled away at the start and battled side by side until Josh Berry was involved in a spin off the track which brought out the 15th caution of the race. The race, originally scheduled for 300 laps, has now completed 325 laps and counting.

8:04 p.m. CT - In the third overtime restart, Kyle Larson's No. 5 wouldn't come up to speed due to low fuel as the green flag flew, creating a log jam in the outside lane. Chase Elliott had nowhere to go and made contact with Kyle Bush's rear bumper, turning the 8 car around and into the wall. The incident brought out the 14th caution of the race.

7:54 p.m. CT -- The second overtime restart also has lots of contact among the cars in front and the cars in back. A group in the back, including Josh Berry, Carson Hocevar, Harrison Burton, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Justin Haley, all tangled to bring out the race's 13th caution. Up front Larson makes slight contact with Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr. as they got up to speed.

7:44 p.m. CT - In an overtime restart, third-place Kyle Larson made contact with leader Denny Hamlin in the lower groove on the restart and then slid up the track to make slight contact with second-place Ross Chastain, sending him into the outside wall. Chastain's car was then hit by another car that knocked him back into the wall and into a spin. The caution flag flew immediately. Chastain's car received heavy damage in the incident. Fuel is now a concern for some of the teams.

7:36 p.m. CT - Noah Gragson and Austin Cindric made slight contact with four laps to go, which sent Cindric's No. 2 machine sliding across the track. The incident brought out the 11th caution of the race and bunched the field up after it appeared pole-sitter Denny Hamlin was cruising to victory in the closing laps.

7:23 p.m. CT -- Denny Hamlin passes leader Ross Chastain after Chastain blocks him two times. Hamlin made the pass with 7 laps to go. Chastain bobbled trying to block Hamlin, giving Hamlin the opening to get by him.

7:04 p.m. CT -- The race's 10th caution came out when Brad Keselowski has a single-car spin and impacted the outside retaining wall along the backstretch. There will be 53 laps remaining when the race returns to green.

6:51 p.m. CT -- Christopher Bell, who led the most laps today with 132, got loose while running in a pack of cars in 15th place and slid up the track and slammed into the Turn 2 wall. His No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing machine received significant damage in the incident, which brought out the ninth caution. There are 71 laps remaining in the race.

6:45 p.m. CT -- Chase Elliott got loose, spun out with no contact and slid into the infield where his No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy went untouched. It brought out the 8th caution of the day. All lead lap cars are pitting and when the green flag sends the field back to racing the front row will be Ryan Blaney and AJ Allmendinger, while Corey LaJoie and Bubba Wallace will be on the second row. None of those four cars elected to pit that time. There are 77 laps to go.

There are 45 laps remaining in Stage 2 and 160 laps remaining in the race.

4:57 p.m. CT -- Nashville Superspeedway officials have deployed five jet dryers, six air Tundras and two vaccum trucks to help remove the moisture from the racing surface following a weather delay. The race remains red flagged by NASCAR.

All cars have been brought down pit road due to weather in the area. Christopher Bell is in the lead and the race was put on hold at lap 136. 12:37 p.m. CT -- Two-time IndyCar champ and two-time Indy 500 winner, Josef Newgarden of Team Penske, visited the media center today to talk about the upcoming Big Machine Music City Grand Prix, Sept. 13-15 at Nashville Superspeedway.
Newgarden, who is serving as a VIP for Nashville Superspeedway and will be introduced during today's pre-race ceremonies for the Ally 400, said he has never raced at the 1.33-mile oval and is looking forward to the challenge of competing here at his circuit's season-finale.
“I’m a Nashville guy," Newgarden said. "I was born and raised here and used to come to events as a kid, so I’m excited to run our season finale here in IndyCar in a couple of month’s time in September, so I’m doing a little bit of studying today and just trying to cheer on my teammates. I've been trying to get out here for the last couple of years; I finally got here, and hopefully, we’ve got a good day.”
A Hendersonville, Tenn. native, he said he and Cup star Josh Berry were in seventh and eighth grade together. He said other than his two Team Penske teammates, he will also be cheering on Berry from a hometown favorite angle later today.

* Pole winner Denny Hamlin posted the pole-winning speed of 160.354 mph yesterday during qualifying at the controls of his No. 11 Toyota Camry. He will lead the 38-car field to the green flag at the approximate start time of 2:49 p.m.
* Local driver Josh Berry, from Hendersonville, Tenn., will be trying to claim his first Cup Series victory today in front of his hometown crowd. Berry, driving the No. 4 Ford for Stewart-Haas Racing, will start on the outside of the front row.
* Defending race winner Ross Chastain, who celebrates each victory by smashing a watermelon and enjoying it in Victory Lane, will be trying to bring home another Nashville Superspeedway victory for his Nashville-based team, Trackhouse Racing. Chastain will start today's race in 20th position, on the 10th row, at the controls of his No. 1 Busch Country Chevy.
