Community Events
Located just 30 miles outside one of the fastest growing cities in America, Nashville Superspeedway has been the home for several community events since its rebirth in 2021. Included in those events was the first Speedway Shootout, a high school cross country meet featuring more than 200 runners from a dozen high schools across Middle Tennessee. The three-mile course wound around Nashville Superspeedway’s expansive campus and provided gorgeous views as runners set personal bests and course records were established.
“Nashville Superspeedway was a great location for our inaugural Speedway Shootout,” said Charlie Simon, the meet coordinator for the Wilson Central High School cross country team. “There were miles of open grassy space, plenty of parking, and the easy access off of I-840 made it very convenient for teams coming from all over Middle Tennessee.
“We had more than 200 runners this year and our goal for [2022] is more than 1,000. Based on all the positive feedback from the other coaches and parents, I think we are well on our way. We hope to continue this partnership with Nashville Superspeedway for years to come. It is a great venue and together we can grow this into a destination event.”
